Must have the ability to understand children and find working with them a pleasure. Energy, enthusiasm, and teamwork required. All candidates should have a warm and friendly presence, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, and be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with the program philosophy.

 

Position will work in our after-school program with school age children.  Candidate would also work on no school days and extended breaks (spring and summer breaks).

 

Qualifications:

- Current CPR/First Aid Certification (willing to train within 90 days of employment)

- Previous experience working with children

- Negative TB test result

  

Responsibilities:

- Assist in promoting and supervising the emotional, social, intellectual and physical development of each child

- Responsible for maintaining confidentiality for all school-related information

- Interact with children and parents in a positive, caring, and concerned manner

- Able to independently handle the responsibilities of a group of children, while maintaining a safe environment during group activities

- Willingness and physically capable to walk distances and participate in all learning and playground activities

- Must follow all childcare license rules and regulations

 

To perform the essential functions of the job, one may be required to maintain a physical condition necessary for sitting and walking for periods of time, climbing, stooping, kneeling, moderate lifting, general manual dexterity, adequate vision, hearing and speech required.
