Salary:
$3000 hiring bonus for all new employees. Salary commensurate with the credentials and experience of the candidate, per the current contract with an employee association
Qualifications:
- At minimum, a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education with a Early Childhood Endorsement
- Possess a Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate
- Strong base in the subject area content, common core standards, and Michigan Merit Curriculum standards
- Ability to develop and sustain positive working relationships with students, staff, parents, and district colleagues
- Demonstrated ability to sustain and improve student achievement outcomes
- Capability for designing curriculum and establishing pacing guide to utilize instructional time
- Collect and analyze data to make effective decisions to promote student learning
- Willingness to contribute to a safe school climate of high expectations and strong collaboration, high staff and student morale, and positive community involvement

Responsibilities:
- Case manager for students ages 3-5 that are in the Early Childhood Special Education Program (ECSE).
- Implements and administers school elementary curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
- Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction
- Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed.
- Instructs students in the principles of responsible citizenship and other subject matters specified in applicable laws, as well as administrative regulations and procedures of the school system.
